Post Report
KATHMANDU, JUL 30 - Demasa, situated on the second floor of City Centre, Kamal Pokhari, stocks a wide variety of crockery items, glassware, crystals, knives and showpieces among various other products that you may want for your kitchen. If you are looking for different types in a particular product range, the store is a must visit as it offers varieties in almost all the products it sells.
“Our shop is dedicated to quality seekers,” said Reena Agrawal, proprietor of Demasa. “We have been in the business for 25 years, and till date we have become successful in branding our image by providing quality in whatever we deal in.” According to Agrawal, the store offers coral products imported from the US, melamine products from Thailand, luminarc products from France and Pyrex from Italy.
“We have a wholesale store at New Road. The store at City Centre was opened two years ago,” said Agrawal. She claims that the coral and melamine products available at the store are unbreakable.
Besides quality, price is the other factor that draws a huge number of customers to the store, claims Agrawal. “All the products available here are priced nominally which has also helped us to attract customers,” said Agrawal, adding that they have a good number of regular customers.
She said that the store witnesses a daily footfall of more than 300.
According to Agrawal, the market for kitchen items has been growing annually by more than 25 percent. She said that many people were shifting from steel to products made of melamine, glass and coral. “Previously, people used to consider only steel products to be long lasting. They used to think that other products were fragile. However, the concept has changed now,” said Agrawal. “Nowadays, people mostly go for melamine and coral products because of their durability and attractive look.”
The steelware available at the store costs from Rs 305 to Rs 1,100, glassware Rs 395 to Rs 945, Corningware Rs 1,950 to Rs 3,320 and Pyrex Rs 140 to Rs 890. Likewise, the crystal vases available at the store cost Rs 900 to Rs 2,400, crystal glass Rs 2,300 to Rs 4,000 and showpieces Rs 1,200 to Rs 3,000. The store is a fixed price shop.
