Drug abuse on the rise in Nawalparasi

NAWALPARASI: Mostly youths have been found trapped in a vicious circle of drug abuse in Nawalparasi. Youths are found increasingly engaged in drug peddling, according to the latest data of people police arrested on the charge of drug abuse.

Area Police Office, Kawaswoti has arrested and registered case against seven drug abusers during the past three months. All the arrestees are found to be at the age class of 20-25, informed Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) of the area police office, Mukunda Marasini.

Likewise, two months ago, Area Police Office, Gaindakot also arrested two youths red hand while consuming banned drug namely TDJC and filed case against them.

The abusers are found to be consuming brown sugar and other abusive drugs, which are imported to Nepal from Indian route, DSP Marasini said.
