KATHMANDU: Three women have lost their lives, after they fell prey to the herd of wild tuskers, in Prithivi Nagar of Jhapa district on Thursday morning.
The two deceased have been identified as Durga Pandey and Aaita Maya Rai, while the identity of the third woman is yet to be ascertained.
With this, the death toll by tusker attack has reached six in Jhapa district in one month.
A herd of elephants coming from the nearby forest had attacked them, police said.
Other two have also been injured in the rampage, sources confirmed.
The injured are undergoing treatment in Mechi Zonal Hospital, Bhadrapur.
