Ex-PLA thrashes two

SOLUKHUMBU: Former Maoist combatant Ratna Bahadur Shrestha on Monday thrashed father and son in Salleri in a fare organised on the occasion of Dumji – a festival of Sherpa people.

Shrestha beat Jangbu Sherpa (77) and his son Chewang (22) mercilessly. Shrestha had recently returned home after opting for voluntary retirement from Chulachuli Ilam-based PLA cantonment. Shrestha thrashed father and son when they had arguments as all three were under the influence. Both father and son have sustained injury all over the body.

They were airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment as they could not be treated at the local health facility. The duo are undergoing treatment at B&B Hospital Lalitpur. Police have arrested Shrestha. Officials said that they had already started an investigating into the case. Himal.
