PAC directs NEA to submit report on Chameliya Project

KATHMANDU, AUG 12 -

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Legislature-Parliament has directed the concerned authorities to update the committee regarding the developments made so far in Chameliya Hydropower Project (CHP) on Friday.

The PAC meeting held in Singhadurbar this morning directed the Energy Ministry and Nepal Electricity Authority to submit the report on working strategy and procedure of the CHP to the committee within three days.

The CHP 30MW project is located in Darchula district. The development work is underway since 2007. However, only 52 percent of the project has been completed so far. The project of estimated US $ 45 million is expected to complete by 2012.
