Top guns hold discussion with Special Committee members

KATHMANDU, AUG 05 -
Top guns of the major three political parties held discussion with the members of the Special Committee for Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation of Army on Friday morning.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction in Singhadurbar, the committee members expressed their belief that the integration process will conclude within August 31 if consensus is forged from the political level.
It has been reported that the Technical Committee of the Special Committee submitted the progress report regarding the army integration to the three main parties –UPCN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN-UML--at the meeting today.
Emerging from the meeting, NC Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Poudel said, “Decision regarding army integration issue should be solved from the political level. This meeting was held only to know the view of the technical committee.”
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal put-forth three proposals at the meeting including withdrawing armies who have been deployed for the security of the Maoist leaders, concluding army integration issue within a month and group division of the armies.
Likewise, -UML leader Bhim Rawal underscored the need of consensus among the political parties on integration, rehabilitation and relief package.
